County Resources Development Commission are to formulate projects for carrying out such economic development programs as will be beneficial to the County of Brunswick to conduct industrial surveys as needed advertise in periodicals or other communication media furnish advice and assistance to businesses and industrial prospects which may locate in its area furnish advice and assistance to existing business and industries furnish advice and assistance to persons seeking to establish new business or industry or engage in related activities and to en-courage the formation of private business development corporations or association which may carry out such projects as securing and preparing sites for industrial development and to carry out such activities as the Commission may deem necessary in the proper exercise of the functions described herein No money property or funds of the Commission shall be used directly or indirectly as a subsidy or investment in capital stock or capital assets in business industry or business venture.
Mission
Seeks to promote and foster business and industrial growth and job creation in Brunswick County.
Membership
~ 16 members, including 6 voting members and 10 non-voting members
~ All members appointed by the Board of Commissioners
~ All members serve at the discretion of the Board of Commissioners
~ Six voting members, consisting of one member from each district, with representation from the
retail/service/banking, applied technology (manufacturing, utilities, industrial) and land use industries to
the extent available and willing to serve; and a member of the Brunswick County Economic
Development Foundation
~ Ten non-voting members, consisting of the County Manager, County Director of Economic
Development, Brunswick Community College Workforce Development Representative, Brunswick
County Director of Public Utilities, Director of Brunswick County Board of Realtors, Brunswick
County Superintendent or his designee, and the Chamber president/executive director/senior staff
member of each of the four Chambers of Commerce within the County
