Background/Purpose of Request:
Two areas in the Northern part of Brunswick County (The Bluffs subdivision and the Western portion of the Compass Pointe subdivision) are currently not in a fire insurance district. This action will allow The Bluffs to be placed in the Navassa VFD Insurance district and the Western portion of Compass Pointe to be placed in the Northwest VFD insurance district. Once approved by the Office of State Fire Marshal, The Bluffs will have an NCRRS rating of 5 (from 10) and the areas of Compass Pointe within 5 miles of the fire station will have an NCRRS rating of 6 (also from a 10).
Additionally, this action will realign an area currently in the Leland Insurance District into the Navassa district as Navassa is closer and the more appropriate department. |
