Background/Purpose of Request:
In May of this year, Brunswick County and the Brunswick Community College entered into a memorandum of understanding regarding the South Brunswick Island Center and funding for the Allied Health Facility. Among the terms of the memorandum, the County was to purchase the SBIC at the time bids were awarded on the Allied Health Building.
It was anticipated that Brunswick County would receive title to the SBIC at the first of the year in order to begin use as a public library. Unfortunately, this was not included as part of the original memorandum. In order to facilitate the purchase, an amendment has been proposed.
With this amendment, the County will receive title to the SBIC and BCC will have immediate access to funds solely for use for the Allied Health Facility Project. |
