Background/Purpose of Request:
The County received a request from Cape Fear Public Transportation Authority for funding in the amount of $32,072 for support of the Brunswick Connector, WAVE Route 204, for FY 21. Brunswick support was proposed to split between the County, Leland and Navassa in the same manner as in FY 20, with Leland to provide $54,636 and Navassa to provide $13,687. A copy of the FY 21 funding addendum is attached.
On May 12th the County received the attached email from Al Eby, the Executive Director of WAVE, advising the County and Navassa that Leland has opted not to provide funding for FY 21 service, and further advising that unless the County and/or Navassa make up Leland's proposed $54,636 share of the local funding that WAVE would begin the process to end the Brunswick Connector Service with an anticipated service end date of August, 28, 2020. |
