Action Item # VII. - 8.

Request that the Board of Commissioners consider approving an updated agency funding agreement, subject to review and approval of the County Attorney, with Brunswick County Habitat for Humanity and consider reimbursing their permit fees in the amount of $3,682.29 for permits completed in 2020 and 2021.

In 2019, an agency funding agreement between Brunswick County and Brunswick County Habitat for Humanity was proposed and approved. The original agreement was executed on 11/13/2019, and active through 6/30/2020. During this time, Brunswick County Habitat for Humanity did not request any permit fee reimbursements. Brunswick County Habitat for Humanity requests the following in order to grow and serve more families each year:

• A new agency funding agreement approved with the following changes:

1.  Extended the agency funding agreement to cover a five-year period.

2. Increase the maximum annual reimbursement for new single-family units from $10,000 to $16,000 ($2,000 per unit).

• Reimbursement of permit fees for 2020 and 2021 in the amount of $3,682.29 as detailed below:

Permit fee reimbursement for up to $10,000 was included in the FY 2019 Health & Human Service Budget per the original agreement. Habitat for Humanity did not request or receive any permit fee reimbursements. Permit fees reimbursements requested in the amount of $3,682.29 for permits completed in 2020 and 2021. Proposed to include within Planning Budget moving budget (Line Item #439911).
