Background/Purpose of Request:
The Board of Commissioners will set the fire fee rate based on recommendations from the Fire Fee District Committee. Each Fire Fee District Committee consists of the following members:
- Fire Chief
- Commissioner from that district
- Community member chosen by the Fire Department Board
- Community member chosen by the Board of commissioners
- Fire Marshal or County Manager Designee
Community members appointed by the Board of Commissioners serve at the pleasure of the board, without term. It is recommended that Ms. Mary McCarthy serve as the community member representing the Southport Fire District, replacing Ms. Colleen Combs. All other members will remain the same unless directed otherwise by the Board of Commissioners.
Fire Fee Committee meetings will be held in April per the legislative requirements, with scheduling to begin in March. |
