Background/Purpose of Request:
In an effort to better serve the community’s water needs and allow staff to more efficiently manage resources, Brunswick County Public Utilities solicited engineering firms to produce a county-wide water master plan report. The project goal is to develop a master plan that enables the County to strategically plan and budget for the future operation, maintenance, and capital improvements necessary to keep the system up-to-date and functioning properly as the system and population grows. The project is to provide long-range planning for a 20-year period. The last county-wide master plan was conducted in 2006.
Requests for Qualifications were requested via County standard procedures and were received from the following firms: CDM Smith, Inc., Dewberry Engineering, Inc., WithersRavenel, Inc., and Timmons Group. The selection committee selected CDM Smith, Inc., based on qualifications and experience with similar projects. A final scope of work for the project has been negotiated and is attached.
