Request the Board of Commissioners award the professional services agreement for architectural, engineering and/or surveying services to Applied Technology & Management of North Carolina, Inc. to complete the Caw Caw and Little Caw Caw Swamp Detailed Floodplain Study. Also request that the Board approve the fee for the described scope of work services of $195,400.00 and the fee for the expanded scope of work services of $18,740.00. |
| | | | | | | | Background/Purpose of Request:
The current floodplain maps that were made effective on 8/28/2018 used Limited Detailed Flood Hazard Data in 2006 to determine the Base Flood Elevations for the Cawcaw and Little Cawcaw Swamps and did not determine a Floodway. The Flood Insurance Rate Maps (FIRMs) for this area has not changed since 2006. Development in the area is continuing to increase and having better data to analyze the existing and future conditions of the Watershed will help to ensure all floodplain regulations are met and enforced with the best available information. The Request For Qualifications was conducted according to the Brunswick County Contract and Purchasing Policy and the state Mini-Brooks Act/ Qualification Based Selection Requirements. |
