Administration - Amendment to the Fiscal Year 2022 Budget Ordinance - Elected Officials Provision


Issue/Action Requested: Request that the Board of Commissioners approve the amendment to the Fiscal Year 2022 Approved Budget Ordinance for the Fiscal Year Beginning July 1, 2021, and Ending June 30, 2022, for the Sheriff and Register of Deeds pay grade change.

Background/Purpose of Request:

The Amended Ordinance is a result of a pay grade increase for the Sheriff from a grade 87 to grade 90 and for the Register of Deeds from a grade 74 to grade 76 changing the annual salary.

The Approved Budget Ordinance section X. (b) (C) is changing from:

(b) The Board of Commissioners hereby sets the annual compensation rate for Brunswick County Sheriff. The Sheriff shall be compensated at an annual rate of $147,756. Benefits will be offered in the same manner as county employees.

(c) The Board of Commissioners hereby sets the annual compensation rate for Brunswick County Register of Deeds. The Register of Deeds shall be compensated at an annual rate of $102,096. Benefits will be offered in the same manner as county employees.

The Approved Budget Ordinance section X. (b) (C) is changing to:

(b) The Board of Commissioners hereby sets the annual compensation rate for Brunswick County Sheriff. The Sheriff shall be compensated at an annual rate of $149,897. Benefits will be offered in the same manner as county employees.

(c) The Board of Commissioners hereby sets the annual compensation rate for Brunswick County Register of Deeds. The Register of Deeds shall be compensated at an annual rate of $103,575. Benefits will be offered in the same manner as county employees.
