Utilities - Holden Beach Wholesale Bulk Water Service Agreement (John Nichols, PE, Director of Public Utilities)

Issue/Action Requested:

Request that the Board of Commissioners approve the renewed Wholesale Bulk Water Service Agreement between Brunswick County and the Town of Holden Beach and authorize the Chairman to execute the agreement upon review by the County Attorney.  

Background/Purpose of Request:

On June 18, 1980, the Town of Holden Beach and Brunswick County entered into a Water Service Contract which was later amended on December 15, 1986. The original 40-year term of the wholesale water service agreement has expired, and the Town and County have been in discussions for several months regarding the development of a new agreement that would take effect September 1, 2021.  Staff recommends approval of the Wholesale Water Service Agreement.
