Background/Purpose of Request:
At the October 4th Board of Commissioner's meeting County Engineering gave a presentation on the exterior construction of the courthouse and the need for maintenance of the exterior precast concrete joints and cleaning of the building. The Board directed staff to bring formal Change Order (3) with Monteith Construction to the Board for approval.
Change Order (3) in the amount of $81,627.00 and (25) additional contract days are attached for Board review and approval. The salient points of the change order are:
Exterior Caulking of Vertical and Horizontal Joints: $45,565.80
Exterior Caulking at Windows, Doors, & Louvers: $21,940.80
Exterior Building Pressure Washing: $14,120.40
Total: $81,627.00
Additional construction contract days for:
Redesign of Courtroom 5 (Juvenile Courtroom): (14) days
Rain days for 2021 in Jan, Feb, March, and July: (11) days
Total Additional Days: (25) days
Monteith Construction has indicated the exterior work on the building, if approved, is scheduled to commence in February 2022.
With Board approval of Change Order (3) the adjusted construction contract will be $11,516,269.00 and the adjusted construction contract end date will be May 20, 2022.
Staff recommends Board of Commissioner review and approval of Change Order (3) with Monteith Construction Corporation for the courthouse addition and renovation project. |
