Background/Purpose of Request:
Currently, the County's Fee Schedule does not specifically identify a fee for ADA access ramps, and thus they are treated as a standard building permit. Therefore, any applicant wishing to install an ADA access ramp must pay the minimum fee for a building permit of $100.
Staff is proposing to establish a standalone Residential ADA Access Ramp Fee of $5 within the Residential Standard Fee Schedule. An applicant will NOT have to pay the minimum building permit fee once a standalone fee for access ramps is created.
The purpose of establishing this fee is to reduce the costs associated with constructing an ADA access ramp for residents in Brunswick County. This fee will not apply to commercial ADA access ramp applications. |
