Background/Purpose of Request:
The I&E Bay Enclosure project was first advertised for bid on March 15, 2022, with bids due on April 7, 2022. Insufficient bids were received; therefore, the project was readvertised on April 11, 2022, and two (2) bids were received on May 5, 2022. Enterprises G, Inc., was the low bid at $258,340.
Funds of $150,000 were approved within the I&E FY22 budget to enclose three bays of an eight-bay metal canopy. A budget amendment was then approved on the June 6, 2022, Board of Commissioners meeting for an additional $150,000 to complete the project. Staff will utilize the enclosed bays for additional indoor space to repair, maintain, and store generators and critical electrical equipment.
Consequently, staff recommends that the Board of Commissioners authorize the Chairman and Clerk to the Board to execute the construction contract with Enterprises G, Inc., in the amount of $258,340 for the I&E Bay Enclosures project. |
