Action Item # V. - 15.

Request that the Board of Commissioners authorize the Chairman and Clerk to the Board to execute the construction contract with Advanced Wireless Solutions, Inc. for the NWWTP SCADA tower project. Staff recommends award of the project for the base bid amount of $182,824.00.

Starting in November 2021, informal quotes for the NWWTP SCADA tower construction project were solicited and only two bids were received by June 20th, 2022, despite repeated attempts to receive bids from multiple contractors (see attached). The low bid was received from Advanced Wireless Solutions, Inc. in the amount of $182,824.00.

Funds of $130,000 were approved within the NWWTP FY22 budget to provide and install a 192’ SCADA radio tower at the Northwest Water Treatment Plant. A budget amendment was then approved on the June 6, 2022, Commissioners meeting for an additional $90,000 to complete the project. Staff will utilize the new SCADA tower for improved SCADA communications and radio redundancy.

Consequently, staff recommends that the Board of Commissioners authorize the Chairman and Clerk to the Board to execute the construction contract with Advanced Wireless Solutions, Inc. in the amount of $182,824.00 for the SCADA radio tower project.
