Request that the Board of Commissioners authorize a refund requested for excise taxes paid in error in the amount of $2,262.00. |

Per North Carolina law, a tax is paid to the Register of Deeds on the transfer of property in the amount of $1 for every $ 500 of value. Pursuant to NCGS 105-228.37, the Law Offices of Michelle Vereckey, PLLC has requested a refund in the amount of $2,262.00. The firm recorded a deed twice and a $2,262.00 excise tax was paid each time. A notice of the correction has been filed with the Register of Deeds. |
